William J. Ferrand
Operations is a promise that things will be where they should be, when they should be there. I have kept that promise with munitions, with hotels, and now with machines and the web.
Entry log
Four movements, one discipline.
Different uniforms, same job: take a complicated operation and keep it in order.
Hotels, from the front desk to the boardroom
General manager of hotels, including new builds taken from construction to opening. Asset manager over an entire national portfolio at the corporate level. Concierge director where the clientele expected perfection and got it. Multi-property operations where satisfaction scores rose and costs did not.
Munitions Systems, United States Air Force
The weapons behind the mission: built, stored, moved, and accounted for with zero tolerance for error. Precision logistics where the inventory is live ordnance and the count is never wrong.
Web design and systems development
Hospitality marketing and hotel platforms first, then a practice of my own: Ameen Systems. A fleet of sites, tools, and small products, designed, built, and operated end to end, plus a seat as secretary on a nonprofit board of directors.
Materials, machines, and moving parts
Materials and site management for automated logistics: conveyance, robotics, and high-density automated storage. The systems that move goods through modern distribution centers, built and commissioned on site. Alongside it, Signal Retail, a retail intelligence platform of my own.
Selected work
From the project ledger.
Halal Hustle
A browser advergame built to promote local halal businesses. Custom engine, custom art, shipped and live.
PlatformFerrand Cards
A greeting card service with member accounts, automation, and a mascot with strong opinions.
AnalyticsSignal Retail
A retail intelligence dashboard: field data in, decisions out, on a system built from scratch.
Credentials on file
Two degrees. Seventeen certificates. Still counting.
Leadership and workplace study at an Ivy League school. A full accounting and markets sequence from a Wall Street institute. Ethics and Islamic studies across universities on two continents. All verified, all filed.
After hours
The register never really closes.
The same instinct that files certificates also puts the entire Star Trek timeline in order. Four viewing dossiers, kept with unreasonable care, live in the annex.
